Here are some of the steps we take to help you sell your home when there is a tenant involved.
Determine and meet your desired goals:
Owner/Property Manager notifies the property will be going on the market. Or, if you'd like us to contact the tenant, we will need their contact information.
We then try to reach out to the tenant and try to establish a repour. We are not the eviction police, that’s’ not our job. Our goal is to communicate with them. We meet with tenant and complete an initial inspection and determine condition.
Then, we provide all information to you regarding tenant demeanor, condition, provide photos, etc. At this point, you make a decision on if you will proceed with the tenant living there while selling the home, or do the proper notices and request the tenant to vacate.
If the tenant will continue to reside in the property, we will assist with serving the proper notices that will need to be given to the tenant.
If you decide it’s best to have the property vacant in order to sell, and if you do not already have one, we will refer you to a local attorney to handle the process.
There are pros and cons of selling a home that is tenant occupied. Every tenant situation is different and needs to be handled accordingly. Contact us to learn more.
