Buyers: 3 Mistakes to Avoid When Buying a Home | Tip Tuesday

For this week's Tip Tuesday, we will focus on 3 mistakes that you can avoid when buying a home.

To summarize:

1. Once you have an accepted offer, deposit your earnest money deposit in escrow as soon as possible. This makes a good first impression of timeliness. In the future, should you ever need to negotiate or need more time on other deadlines, the seller and agent will more likely be able to work with you on it. 

2. During your inspection contingencies, we recommend that you get a home inspection done by a licensed home inspector. This step is really important and can save you thousands of dollars. 

3. DO NOT open any credit account, pay off any major debt, or make any late payments on any current accounts that you already have open. You want your financial situation to remain the same as when you got your pre-approval letter. Unless the lender tells you to do something specific, always ask them first before making any major financial decisions.
