Congratulations! You've just sold your house. For this week's Tip Tuesday, we will go over what you should do after this big step! First, you are going to be receiving a lot of closing documents and papers so be sure to keep them for tax records and personal records. If you work with us, you will be given a thumb drive that contains all of the documents that you've signed throughout the whole transaction. Second, before you step out that door for the last time, do another walk through to make sure you didn't leave behind any personal items, checking drawers and cabinets. Make sure any debris on the inside and outside of the home is cleaned up. It is also a good idea to compile all of the extra keys. This would include mailbox keys, gate keys, keys for the pool, utility doors, and remotes for the garage door. Also, we recommend compiling any warranties and manuals for appliances or systems in the house. Once you have all of the keys and manuals together in one spot, notify your realtor to let them know where you have put them, and they can inform the buyers. Third, once you are moved out, you will want to report a change of address with the post office, and any bill collectors. Don't forget to turn off utilities so you won't keep getting charged. Lastly, write a review for your realtor. Especially if you were satisfied with their services. Whenever we get a notification that a buyer or seller has written a review, it makes our day!
